That’s right. It’s one of those jobs that you can’t really give just one name.

Our client is a large, dynamic local authority providing those services, that we all take for granted, to their employers - the ratepayers. With an ongoing commitment to providing the best infrastructure possible, we are now looking for an Infrastructure Investigations Engineer to join the team.

As we say, it’s a job that could carry many names, but the bottom line is that you will be:

• Involved in project development from early planning to investigation/ feasibility phase through to hand over for implementation.
• Regularly monitor performance of the roading network
• Help establish strategic improvement plans
• Be involved in scheme assessment, investigations, preliminary designs, Resource consents, etc.
• Offer specialist advice and support to others

Basically, look at the problem and find a way to fix it!

To be successful in this job, you will obviously need:

• Hold a relevant tertiary qualification (BE Civil or similar)
• Preferably be CPEng (or equivalent) registered
• Have at least 7 years solid civil engineering work experience
• Have previous local government/ public utilities experience (preferred but not essential)
• Have managed major projects.

This is a different sort of job and requires a person with the ability to see beyond the normal boundaries. It’s a job that will require you to be working on multiple projects and still have time to answer questions.
