This critical role will encompassing all aspects of sales for the engineering department with the key deliverables being to lead technical sales for project based engineering solutions across dairy, food, chemical. construction and materials handling industries.
Experiencing year on year growth, they are looking to add a seasoned and passionate Business Development Manager to their sales team.
We are looking for a strong sales professional to continue to forward momentum our client is experiencing with both new and existing business. This is not a transactional or traditional 'technical sales' role, we are looking for that rare candidate whom has the ability to hunt out new business whilst managing existing relationships, creating longer and stronger partnerships this is a newly created role that you will be apart of defining. You will as fore mentioned come from within the sector with preferably a strong relationship to Sheet metal & Fabrication.
Forging and maintaining strong relationships with key contacts in existing and new accounts
Develop and maintain relevant networks and trusted relationships with the key decision makers
Manage your sales pipeline to ensure you always have new prospects coming in as you are closing current proposals
Provide input on budgeting, quotes, and tender applications
Monitor and report on competitor products, sales and marketing activities within your territory utilising CRM
With the support of an Estimator & Internal Sales Support Specialist, prepare accurate and detailed quotations / specifications
Strategic brainstorming and implementation of new business development initiatives
Developing and leveraging the company's branding and professional profile
The successful candidate:
Preferably you will have an engineering qualification, be a degree or trade that has lead you to a commercial role
5 + years Sales Experience within a technical environment – Engineering, Manufacturing or Construction
A proven ability to plan, develop and execute business development strategies
The ability to create proposals by harnessing knowledge and support from internal team
A strong technical aptitude is a must, design or practical engineering / fabrication experience is a bonus
A thirst for learning and will put effort in to grow their product understanding
Track record of achieving sales targets and high levels of customer satisfaction
Well networked in the New Zealand B2Bsector and you are an expert at opening doors to win new clients
A great sense of humour, energy and can do attitude
