This is a unique opportunity in the Auckland construction market to join a well-established contractor in a high-level position, part of the senior management team.
The company are looking to hire a Contracts Manager to ensure that their construction projects under their remit are completed on time, within budget, to the highest industry standards, in compliance with the Building Code, and completed to the highest Health & Safety and environmental standards, whilst maintaining the company’s good relations with all associated parties and maintaining a high level of morale in the project team as a whole.
The salary for the position is in the region of $180-220k plus vehicle, depending on experience.
Key performance areas include:
Leading the Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) team on selected prospective new projects
Overseeing the construction process from start to finish
Managing the pre-construction phase of the project in close collaboration with the Site Project Managers
Where the project is a Design & Build project, the CM will manage the design, consenting, and compliance elements of the project in close collaboration with the Design Manager and the Site Project Manager
Providing input into the procurement process and ensuring target budgets are met
Create the required teams, develop objectives / goals for each and assign responsibilities
Providing support and ensuring that the Site Project Managers are effectively directing supervisors / site managers reporting to them
Meeting with the various design consultants to resolve issues and feed these back to all on site
In order to be considered for this position, applicants MUST have the following experience:
Senior Project Manager or Contracts Manager experience gained in New Zealand on large construction projects in a contractor company
Experience of programming projects and delegating package delivery to Project Managers and Site Managers
Working closely with external consultants for design and engineering aspects of the projects
Preparing reports for PCG meetings
Mitigating risk and ensuring high standards of Health & Safety is adhered to for all projects
