How self-reliant are you? If you’re all good in a workshop where you can rely on others to support you and help you solve problems; that’s one thing. If you can arrive at a Civil Construction site to a broken machine, diagnose the issue and use the resources to hand to get it running again – you’re what we’re looking for.
This mid-sized Civil contractor have machines as diverse as trucks and utes, though to fixed mast piling rigs, loaders, excavators, concrete plant, loaders, cranes – you name it.
To ace this job, you’ll need to be adaptable, self-managing, trust-worthy and motivated enough to set your own targets. You’ll be a planner who can think through optimising your travelling time, parts ordering and such-like so that you can get plant back up & running as fast as possible. You’ll be able to have a discussion with a site manager about things like “shall we do this to get the machine running long enough to get you to a deadline, and then come back with the long-term fix later when the pressure’s off?”
You’ll understand that productivity of the construction site is what ultimately pays your wages which will mean the site manager’s needs will be your highest priority.
If being out-and-about will add enjoyment to your day, you don’t mind interruptions, you can handle some weekend work, breakdowns etc, let’s have a chat! This role will pay around $35/h and you’ll also have a vehicle to take home.
