Join the passionate Project team responsible for delivering modern, fit for purpose, critical healthcare facilities that will cater to the growing needs of the Hawkes Bay District. With a 10 year + programme of works underway this is an exciting time to play a key role within a committed, community minded organisation developing high performing, energy efficient facilities to provide the best possible care to Hawkes Bay communities for generations to come. Reporting to the Engineering Projects Manager you will utilise your developed Electrical PM, Building Services and ideally Building Management Systems (BMS) expertise to manage varied HBDHB capital projects end to end across the full project life cycle. You will engage, consult and manage key stake holders to develop cost effective practical solutions for a long term capital programme of works. With direct oversight of onsite contractors and 1-2 internal staff you will combine your construction, engineering and project management expertise to deliver significant infrastructure projects to defined parameters.

With a track record managing the delivery of complex, services heavy facilities and infrastructure projects you will be organised, detail focussed and comfortable operating in a dynamic project environment. You will have a strong Electrical engineering bent with knowledge of HVAC and mains electrical switchboard systems for day to day operations of large commercial buildings. Understanding the value of sustainable building practices you will have strong green credentials with associated accreditation or professional membership well regarded. You will be comfortable operating at an independent level on multiple packages of work in the $2-$5M range. You will be confident with all stages of Capital Project Planning and Project Management with a thorough and practical process aiming to streamline processes where possible. This includes demonstrating feasibility studies and business cases are well researched, ensuring time, cost and quality targets are achieved and managing resources effectively to deliver successful project outcomes. A team player with a positive attitude, you will take a creative approach to problem solving and providing solutions. With a continuous improvement ethos, you will take pride in your work, while maintaining a good sense of humour and ability to focus on what you can control.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako: Skills & Experience
Tertiary qualified in Construction, Engineering or Project Management
Developed working knowledge of New Zealand construction contracts, standards and law
Strong Electrical experience and knowledge of HVAC, Building Services and BMS
Able to effectively manage multiple capital projects of $2M + concurrently
Prior Government, Health Sector or client-side construction PM experience
Confident managing and leading consultants, contractors and internal staff
Excellent relationship building, negotiation and influencing abilities
Working proficiency of MS Project and exposure to a range of digital PM tools
PMP or PRINCE 2 Certification and Professional Engineering association desirable
Strong communication skills both written and verbal
