Our client is offering a unique opportunity to provide operational and maintenance support for electricity distribution, gas and water reticulation networks as well as the tourist/fishing vessels and general community work. This is in a unique outdoor orientated region in Southland.
The company seeks to employ a Registered Electrician with broad / general maintenance capability who can perform in a stand alone work environment.
The role entails working 10 days on location where you will be provided self contained accommodation and then 4 days off. The hours of work is 8:00am - 5:00pm -there is Overtime work available.
In this position, you will be responsible for:
Providing routine and non routine electrical maintenance services on 3.3kV and 400V Distribution networks and local water supply network.
Operate and maintain the gas reticulation network and LPG bulk supply facility
Assist with the operation and maintenance of local hydro and diesel generation units
Provide additional maintenance services to other organisations in the region such as motels
Provide maintenance services to tourist vessel operators and fishing vessels
To succeed in this job, you will:
Be trade qualified as an industrial electrician with broad maintenance capabilities
Ideally have at least 5 years experience associated with the maintenance of electrical plant and equipment
Take ownership of your work area as well as assisting others in the region as required
Contribute to the effective performance of the organisation through a proactive approach to work activities
Have a sound knowledge of and commitment to safety
Be able to work alone and unsupervised in a remote location
Salaried position paying $95,000.00 pa + accommodation while on location + travel allowances to and from location + free WIFI on location
