As the Fitter, you will be involved in the fit out of gearboxes, pumps, and valves, balancing and testing, assembly of equipment plus associated components and general fitting. This role provides the full scope of Fitting / Turning, with the opportunity to work on some of NZ’s biggest construction and civil projects.
Skills should include:
Design, fabricate and use template, jigs, and fixtures competently
Demonstrating good skill in the use of hand tools including gas cutting, bevelling and angle grinding
Precise measures and checks using micrometre, Vernier calliper, feeler gauge, steel rule, laser level, spirit level, straight edge, tight wire, tape measure, square or protractor
Straighten and align fabrication components using porter power jacks, dogs and wedges, chain hoists and lever blocks, turn buckle braces, turbos, drift pins, clamps, pry bars and hammers
Correctly interprets workshop plans, drawings and ISO pipe plans and drawings
