Traffic Signals are continuously developing in complexity and are one of those essential services to keep the public safe and free from gridlock on the roads. This company is at the leading edge on all forms of Traffic Signals and Traffic Management Technology:
digital message boards
automatic toll systems
everything else electronic on our road corridors.
They are also driving the future - bringing "Smart City" technology to New Zealand.
The right person for this role will be someone who can build the culture of safety, quality and pride in their team, for being the top-performing supplier to the roading corridor electrical and electronics industry.
You will have proven skills in getting the best out of people who are doing new-build/installs on roads and intersections, as well as maintenance. The technology is moving fully towards being online and so the right person will need a good head for IT which likely will be indicated by having experience with Controls.
Your team’s work sites by default will be out-door so there's no working in confined spaces. Whilst your job will primarily be management, you will need to be prepared to learn the technology yourself so that you can train people, be a go-to source for problem-solving and generally to be able to lead by example. Sometimes there’s night work where intersections can’t be taken off-line during daytime traffic.
The role will be paying a competitive salary plus vehicle in the range of $90k - $110k. The size of this employer guarantees that there will be future career development from this role and there is a friendly and open-door management culture here. I’ve talked to workers on the team and they enjoy working here!
To be eligible for this role, you must have Full NZ Electrical Registration. You also will need experience in Controls and quite good computer skills. You must want to live and work in Auckland and have a valid NZ Work Visa.
