My client is a global leader at the heart of innovation within raw material manufacturing. They are committed to delivering innovative, environmentally sustainable products with manufacturing operations based locally in the Hawke's Bay. A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced GIS Technician to join a small, established team providing technical support with a focus on data maintenance and GIS tools.
Reporting to the GIS Specialist, and as an integral part of a wider organisational division, the purpose of this role is to GIS services and assist with technologies that will deliver improved business outcomes within the GIS section of the company. You will be involved with the maintenance of GIS field apps and act as cover for a range of GIS functions within the business. With experience in delivering functional, high quality spatial data and mapping services you will have a continuous improvement mind set, complemented by well developed, technical and operational GIS skills.
Develop, analyse and maintain spatial data and provide mapping services
Assist with a range of projects that deliver innovation and business improvement
Update Geo Master records and provide support for GIS field Apps
Complete a variety of work subject to the needs of the business
Assist the company to achieve environmental goals and meet all H&S responsibilities
Support GIS services and complete projects to enhance company capabilities
Tertiary qualified in GIS, Computer Science, Geography or similar
2-5 years + experience working within spatial data and mapping services
Experienced with ESRI ArcGIS software
A track record of assisting operational and technical staff with varied GS Services
Positive disposition and developed analytical problem solving skills
Unrestricted work rights for NZ, in country or with imminent arrival
