One of NZ's largest builders is looking to grow their health and safety team so they can continue meet and exceed their already exceptional safety standards. They are looking for a Health and Safety officer to join their team on an exciting project in Auckland
This position is to provide direction and advice on H&S policies, tailored safety plans, hardware and training, audits and ongoing assistance and development of procedures. We are looking for candidates with a strong Health and Safety background who are keen to work for a company with medium to large projects underway. You will be acting in an advisory and co-ordination capacity, which will see you train and implement safety initiatives within the construction sites. You will ensure HSE targets are met in order for the company to attain and retain contractual, legal and company standards.
The following skills and experience are required:
An strong understanding of HSE regulations for construction
Proven experience in a previous role within Health & Safety, specifically the creation and implementation of health and safety frameworks
Planning and implementing effective H&S procedures to ensure a zero-harm workplace
The ability to identify workplace hazards and methods of improving / resolving issues
Excellent stakeholder liaison skills as you will constantly be communicating with onsite staff, clients, consultants and public
Excellent written and oral communication skills as you will be reporting to people from the top of the ladder to the people out on the ground
You will be driving the Health & Safety initiatives on multi-million dollar construction projects in Auckland
