One of New Zealand’s fastest growing civil contractors is looking for a Project Coordination & Interface Engineer to join their team. You’ll be working on projects that are critical to the NZ transport infrastructure sector and based all around the country from Whangarei to Invercargill. Our client here are specialists in what they do and are very well poised for exciting growth as the central government spends money on upgrading & expanding the public transport infrastructure in NZ.
The main responsibilities of the role will be to coordinate, plan & schedule upcoming work projects & interface with key stakeholders. You'll monitor day to day work progress and prepare the weekly and monthly works package reports. Strong experience in Excel with some experience in MS Project will be essential but strong communication is a must. Applicants must be able to pick up the phone and get the information from key people as & when needed. Other key duties include collation of key project info, sitting in and recording project planning meetings with the clients, liaising daily with site based crews on work completed to date
The role will suit either a dedicated Junior Planning Engineer or a Civil Site Engineer who is looking to step away from site and progress their career through the project planning & interface route.
What you will need:
1-3 years’ experience on major infrastructure projects - ideally in NZ (rail experience is favourable but not essential)
Strong project coordination experience
Confidence in your written and verbal communication skills
Experience in the use of MS Project (essential)
Experience in rail, roading, earthworks or similar civil related projects
The ability to programme project work and manage delivery
Advance level in MS Office especially Excel
