My client are a growing, leader in artificial landscape solutions with an established manufacturing plant located in the industrial hub of Onehunga.
With a high demand for their manufactured products they are currently looking for an experienced Maintenance Plant Engineer to join their Team. The purpose of the role is to ensure machinery and equipment operate efficiently and reliably and to drive continuous improvement and automation processes.
You will be a self-motivated engineer with plant maintenance experience who can work autonomously.
Plan scheduled maintenance on machinery and equipment
Ensure equipment is available and reliable to optimise production
Initiate improvements in systems and processes, utilising your continuous improvement skill set
Engage external contractors as required
Provide detailed input into projects and project planning
Provide input into Improvements in Plant processes / procedures to achieve targeted results for Engineering by providing informative data when requested
Support Machine Operators to set machines and equipment to production targets
Conduct root cause analysis on break downs and recommend preventative action
Ensure H&S practices are followed and a safety first approach to any maintenance and repair activities
Mechanical Trade qualification / Fitter & Turner
Experience in an industrial, manufacturing environment
Fork Hoist Certificate with current F endorsement
Electrical aptitude or practising license desirable
Current work rights for New Zealand, in country or with imminent arrival
This is a hands on, sole charge role reporting to a grounded, relatable Plant Supervisor and supported by Technicians and Operators. A good practical grasp of motors, gears and lighting drives is required with core hours 6am – 3pm, Mon – Fri with occasional overtime and weekend work required.
