RobLawMax are exclusively partnered with a reputable mining business who have a critical requirement for a Mine Manager to be responsible for the oversight of all mining activities at a globally reputable site. Reporting to the Operations Director, you’ll direct all open pit mining activities, lead production and tech services with key responsibility for consistent safe operations. You’ll lead a diverse team of expats and national employees, applying a leadership style that empowers and mentors nationals to develop and succeed.
You will bring strong working knowledge of producing open pit operations backed by experience as leading multinational workforces. Working as part of the mine’s leadership team, you will be handed autonomy while having support by proven executive leaders.
The global Covid environment has created logistical challenges in the co-ordination of site travel while minimising quarantine periods between countries. With this in mind, the client has to consider roster options that create a suitable work / life balance while limiting site disturbance. For this reason, we’re expecting a 4 – 6 month stint in-country until further clarity on global Covid restrictions comes available.
To be considered for this role, you must possess the following:
Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or similar (civil, geotechnical, surveying)
At least 15 years’ experience in open pit mining operations
At least one expatriate assignment at a remote international site
Previous work with a mining house, with exposure to a mining contractor favourable
Exceptional safety track record
Proven experience in leading diverse workforces with a collaborative demeanour
Excellent written and verbal communication
The ability to commit to a long first FIFO swing (up to 6 months in-country) before returning to a typical FIFO roster (4 / 2 or 6 / 3)
