RobLawMax are exclusively partnered with a growing mining business who have a critical requirement for a Principal – Mine Planning to be responsible for oversight of mine planning, technical and systems functions across multiple sites in QLD and NSW. Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll bring a passion for technical mine planning excellence, an ‘outside of the box’ mindset and become a key member of an ambitious team.

This is a newly created position based on opportunities for strategic growth covering both the coal and open pit hard rock mining sectors.  This position will be the business’ key leader in the mine planning and systems function, with company-wide respect based on this specific expertise and autonomy, rather than team leadership.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or similar

  • At least 10 years’ experience in open cut mining operations

  • Proven expertise as a Mine Planner ideally with exposure across coal and hard rock operations

  • Exceptional skills in technical services with an understanding of business improvement principles

  • Commercially astute to understand opportunities to optimise returns

  • Excellent written and verbal communication
