Need a change of scenery? Seeking a seasoned Operations Maintenance Co-ordinator for a large scale plant, in the heart of the Waikato.

A unique to market role as Operations Maintenance Co-ordinator has arisen within one of their Central North Island Plants.
This newly created role, reporting to the Business Unit Manager, and as an integral member of the Maintenance and Operations teams, the purpose of this role is to co-ordinate and control the execution of maintenance, reliability, operative plans and shutdowns between the Operations and Maintenance teams. You will be a champion and enforcer for health and safety practices and be adept at prioritising, planning, communicating and influencing. This role will also be responsible for completing / closing the work request feedback loop, hence where the communicating and influencing will be important
You will have extensive experience in maintenance management systems, policies and procedures, with a proven record of accomplishment in demonstrating strong systems focus and a strategic approach to delivering positive outcomes. Your proven relationship building skills will be complemented by well developed, interpersonal and influencing abilities.
The OMC will be the day to day link between maintenance and operations and some of the responsibilities include:
Ensuring that the operational area is prepared for scheduled maintenance activities each day
Reviewing incoming work notifications to ensure they are complete, and provide feedback where appropriate
Ensuring work notifications are correctly prioritised
Determining which jobs (if any) will break into the weekly schedule
Liaising with the planner (and others as required) to set priorities for planning and scheduling of work
Reviews all work notifications ensuring that they are sufficiently descriptive of the issue, are valid, complete, and meet the work notifications standard
Establishes accountability within the operations team to furnish completed work notifications
Sets work priority for all corrective maintenance work
Determines plant operational Management of Change requirements relating to proposed corrective work
Authorises work to break into the weekly schedule (keeping this to a minimum) based upon plant availability & production requirements and impact on the maintenance schedule. Liaises with Maintenance & Operations to ensure this work is executed efficiently
Accountable to co-ordinate and ensure that all operations activities associated with maintenance work (e.g. plant shutdown, cleaning, isolation, permitting, pre start checkout) are completed in accordance with the work schedule
This roles outcome is to achieve an improved, integrated maintenance and operations approach to work order management (work identification to execution) which balances both short and long term needs of the plant along with improved effectiveness of resource trades.
Our ideal candidate will have:
Ideally an Engineering Trade Qualification, Degree or NZCE – However this is not essential
3 Years experience within a relevant Business Unit, or similar industry environment
Have worked in or alongside a maintenance team in a continuous manufacturing environment
Be a strong communicator and effective influencer with excellent people skills
Have a strong operational and maintenance knowledge
