A leading supplier of shutters and blinds, the company is going from strength to strength and have doubled their turnover in recent years. They supply to both residential and commercial customers a high quality product, manufactured in-house (blinds) and overseas (shutters). They have over 20 staff and are located in central Auckland.
As Operations Supervisor, the job holder will oversee, organise and monitor the entire production and workflow process to ensure quality, efficiency, organisation and scheduling. Costs, timelines, stock, delivery and installation will be tracked closely to ensure profitability. This job marries the factory to the office and is responsible for the Work in Progress report. CAD designs will be co-ordinated to ensure accurate production. Repairs and remedial work under warranty is another function which will be tracked also. Training in the company’s product and workflow will be provided. The salary is $65-75k.
Experience of working in a production environment is essential, market sector is not important. What is important is the ability take a top down approach, see the bigger picture, but then drill down to distinct processes where innovations and efficiencies can be created. The job holder will bring the team together.
Essential skills and experience:
Experience of working in a production environment
Recent operational or production experience in a supervisory capacity
Strong organisational abilities
Communication is key, this must be strong both written and verbal
IT skills must be to a highly competent level – MS Excel in particular
Level headed, patient, disciplined and consistent
Honest, reliable, friendly
