Our client has already secured positions on the MBIE all-of-government engineering panel, the MBIE energy panel, the Auckland Transport TEPPS panel, and the KiwiRail Framework agreement. Our NZ staff are able to work without borders - building our profile and workbook in NZ at the same time as playing key roles delivering major Australian projects such as Sydney Metro, TfNSW More Trains – More Services, North East Link, Ballarat Line Upgrade Alliance, Sydney Trains Multi-discipline Panel

The role:

We are looking for a Principal Engineer with experience in the Rail market in NZ to Lead the NZ Infrastructure team.With significant investment back into New Zealand’s Rail infrastructure it’s never been a better time to work in such an exciting sector.

This is a client-facing senior leadership role, developing and delivering a business plan to identify our clients’ needs and to deliver exceptional solutions. The role will suit an aspiring leader looking for an opportunity to build a sustainable business – supported by an established consultancy brand with global footprint.

The right candidate will have:

  • Established networks with major NZ Rail infrastructure clients in the public and private sectors (government agencies and construction contractors)

  • Technical qualifications (including CPEng or close to) with suitable design experience in permanent way or rail systems

  • 15 years’ approx. experience, including leading technical and/or project delivery teams

  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and a strong desire to build a business

  • Ability to develop and implement strategy

  • Strong people leadership and communication skills
