This vacancy is a solid opportunity for a motivated and driven construction professional to get on board with a growing construction business. They leverage and nurture long term relationships with their clients and deliver projects to a very high standard. The position of Project Engineer works closely with a number of people internally and externally, primarily supporting the Project and Site Managers. The successful applicant will be involved in projects from start to finish and will cover elements such as design co-ordination, scheduling, procurement, quality assurance and operational management. The position will be split across site and office work, managing priorities and co-ordinating work of subcontractors in accordance with the project priorities schedule.

Skills and experience required:

  • Construction Degree or Diploma PLUS 4+ years experience of working on construction projects in New Zealand in construction or fit-out

  • Experience in the construction of buildings structures (steel, concrete, timber, engineering thereof)

  • Experience working on complex building or interior fit-out projects

  • Strong understanding the construction process, design and subcontractor involvement

  • Able to work well on site and in the office

  • Motivated and professional approach

  • A flexible and can-do attitude is expected

  • The ability to prioritise work and have strong planning / organisational skills

  • An ability to work independently or in a team
