This is a senior Project Manager role.You will be running several concurrent projects sometimes in the Head-Contractor capacity, for building or upgrading a complete water or wastewater treatment plant.Other-times you’ll be a sub-contract supplier & installer of processing plant & machinery.
The project lifecycle will involve everything from scoping, pricing/estimating, tendering, negotiating and contract winning.You’ll contribute to design (although detailed design is a collaboration between in-house design on your side and the client’s designers/engineer).
You’ll develop, run and manage the program, liaise with and/or direct teams at every stage through design, manufacturing, installation and commissioning.On projects where you’re in the head-contractor role, you’ll be engaging sub-contractors for the civil components, so previous experience in sub-contractor negotiation engagement and management will be important.

A suitable background for this role could be a Mechanical Engineer with experience in some form of process environment - preferably with some form of fluid component which could be include chemical, dairy, water, potentially oil/gas.
Alternatively, a background from Civil Construction with experience in water/wastewater treatment would also fly.
The major traits sought will be the ability to run projects from end to end.You don’t necessarily need to be an expert in water treatment but you’ll need to know when to ask questions and what questions to ask, so that you can ensure the technical delivery is perfect.
You’ll also be experienced in best-practice Project Management with the sixth sense of being able foresee pitfalls, problems, and with a laser focus on critical path, risk management and mitigation.You’ll know from minute to minute your costs and the financial performance, to achieve and exceed financial performance on every project - both for profitability and also to wow the client who will be falling over themselves to give you their next project.
Experience ideally with as many as possible of the following contract formats will be highly valued:NEC3, FIDIC, 3910.
