We are currently working with a hugely successful and growing construction contractor who have been operating since the late nineties. They are currently hiring for a number of positions and their number one priority is to hire an experienced, capable and competent Quantity Surveyor at the Senior level. The salary will be in the region of $100-150k plus vehicle allowance. This of course depends on experience, they will consider those at an intermediate or senior level.

It is a dynamic organisation with a passionate and experienced leadership team; they have completed a number of projects across Auckland ranging in value from $2.5m to $35m in the commercial, retail, corporate and hospitality sectors for well known international companies and brands.

As an experienced QS you will be engaged in the full project life cycle from pre-contract estimating and tendering, procurement, cost provision and control, post-contract variations, final accounts and reporting. The role will be both head office and site based.

Applicants must have the following experience:

  • 5-6 years+ as a minimum Quantity Surveying experience (main contractor or fit-out) with long tenures

  • Strong understanding of tendering and contract administration

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, able to convey complex cost and project situations

  • Team player, rapport builder who is able to form highly effective working relationships

  • Ability to analyse and mitigate risks

  • Process driven with an awareness throughout of stakeholder relationships and client satisfaction

  • Positive attitude, well organised, tenacious, lateral thinker
