The company specialises in modular building and has an established presence in Auckland with 3 large projects underway. They are operating in NZ, Australia and Asia. They are disruptors in the commercial and residential building process, reducing site build time. They are working with main contractors, housing organisations and commercial clients. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a different way of building. The position is to manage the costs associated with a $70m project underway on the North Shore, working with a main contractor (or super-subcontractor) and the cost consultant quantity surveyors. It is a multi-unit residential project of over 180 units. It is due to run until mid-2023, after which more projects have already been secured. The role also oversees the costs associated with logistics and transport of the prefab units being constructed and imported from Asia.
Other associated costs will also be managed in the positions, such as facades, roofing, weather-tightness, landscaping, civil etc
Another aspect of the position is to establish and develop robust and scalable cost management systems in-house. This isn’t something that most QS's get to do, this really is an opportunity to ‘make the role your own’ by driving and owning the process.
A junior/intermediate QS/Contract Administrator will report to the job holder.
Management of the financial and contractual activities at the project level
Preparation of contractual correspondence, documentation, and claims
Assist in minimising commercial risks and maximising profit
Assist the Project Manager with effective administration to ensure the Company complies with its contractual obligations, and that the commercial and contractual interests of the Company are protected
Assist in the resolution of queries with clients, contractors and consultants
A minimum of 7-8 years QS experience is required
Applicants must have main contractor experience, any PQS and international experience is helpful but not essential
A tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying
Experience with Excel is essential, any experience in Dynamics 365 is useful but not essential.
The ability to provide accurate project financial reports
