Due to expansion of the current team we are after a welding apprentice for a leading mechanical engineering firm in East Tamaki. My client is a market leader with over twenty years experience in providing sales, engineering and services to the saw milling and bulk power handling industry. They are also well regarded within the petro chemical & heavy haulage industries. A locally owned and operated company, run by Kiwi’s they pride themselves on growing their employees through the business and are a preferred service provider across New Zealand and Australia.
You don't need welding or fitting experience to put your hand up for this role, what you do need is an excellent attitude a good sense of humour, the willingness to learn and grow along with the ability to roll up your sleeves and get stuck in is a must. Ideally you will have a few year real world work experience under your belt and a knack for engineering - or you may be looking to change trades / up skill.
This industry is skill short, by taking up a welding apprenticeship within this particular industry will allow you to set up a career that will see you become an absolute expert in your field. The team is epic, you will be trained by seasoned engineering professionals, you will be invested in and encouraged to develop. This role will see you travel & get out of the workshop to site too!
Duties will include:
Welding – MIG, TIG (Steel, Alloy, Stainless)
Maintenance / Servicing
Medium Fabrication
Site work /TA work
Cleaning
Deliveries
General workshop duties
