Operational and Technical role
As part of the Asset Management Group this role will lead Transport Policy and Planning, Transport Network Development and the delivery of Transport related projects and programmes for the organisation. You will be responsible for planning and developing transport infrastructure that is safe, fit for purpose, accessible, resilient and cost effective. You will provide technical leadership to a small team of transport professionals, reinforcing and building on a positive work culture that has a strong service ethos and promotes positive behaviours and values. As an excellent communicator you will enjoy engaging and influencing others and be passionate about making a positive contribution to the region and setting the standards for Transport Policy, Planning and Network Development Management practices.
To be considered you will have:
A strong understanding of transport planning and systems, business case processes, local government legislation, council practices and constraints
Have 10 years+ professional experience with transportation development standards and practices
Be familiar with the RMA and the Transportation Land Development Process
Have knowledge of Waka Kotahi / NZTA Audit Compliance requirements
Over 5 years working knowledge of Local Authority governance administration
Excellent people and communication skills and a strong customer ethos
Commercially astute with experience in the application of project management methodologies desirable
Have a good understanding of the regulatory framework for Transport Planning and Transport Policy in New Zealand, including Waka Kotahi / NZTA processes
