Project Manager sought for leading manufacturer of exterior glass and aluminium balustrade systems and related exterior products.  

Due to sustained growth my client have a current need for an experienced, proactive Operations / Project Manager,  based out of their production facility in South East Auckland. Having achieved significant, sustained growth over the last 2 years, this role will play an integral part in maintaining ambitious ongoing installation and production targets. Post lockdown they are in good shape with a full order book and a number of long-term contracts giving certainty and the confidence to add to a small, high performing team of installers, designers and production staff.

As an experienced Project Manager, you will have a good base of construction knowledge with a strong knowledge of aluminium and glass exterior products desired such as Balustrades, Louvre Systems, Gates, Fencing and related exterior improvement products. You will be responsible for the scheduling and co-ordination of an experienced team of installers to ensure erection on site runs as smoothly. You will liaise with clients and contractors to ensure adequate preparation has been completed and that clients are kept informed of any impacts to project delivery timeframes. As with any project work there are a large number of variables and your role will be to manage the process, keeping design draught's aware of timelines for production, keeping production aware of requirements for installation and installers aware of programme for erection and installation. Developed communication skills and an understanding of the flow on effects of any delay to programme are required. You must be able to accurately update scheduling, keep clients happy and co-ordinate installers, designers and production as required. 

Your role will include: 

  • Co-ordinating a team of Installers and scheduling, forecasting daily, weekly, monthly work loads
  • Project Management of site works, liaising with contractors and clients 
  • Ensuring all work meets Building Code, Council and product installation technical specifications
  • Utilising your construction experience and knowledge of exterior products to accurately Programme work schedules
  • Keep designers and production staff updated with priorities and any changes to schedule
  • Planning and preparing schedules 

Your Skills: 

  • Construction experience and a strong practical bent
  • Project Management experience, confident managing a large number of sites concurrently 
  • Experienced with the measure up, install, construction and project management of Balustrades, Louvre Systems, Gates, Fencing or related exterior improvement products
  • Developed communication skills, able to relate skills and a passion for the industry
  • Outstanding delegation and time management skills
  • A strong customer focus and work ethic

Installers leave for site at 6:30 am so a willingness to start early is required with flexibility provided around remote working in afternoons subject to project requirements.
