Lead the delivery of a wide portfolio of civil construction projects, shaping communities across the Hawke’s Bay region. This senior management position offers the opportunity to take operational and project leadership within a respected, medium-sized civil contractor, where decisions are made quickly, teams are supported, and projects vary from $1m–$10m.
From roading and stabilisation works, bridge and culvert reinstatement, three waters and drainage services, to commercial/industrial sites and subdivision development – no two days will look the same.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-level leadership across multiple civil infrastructure projects.
- Manage and mentor Project Managers and site teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to budget.
- Oversee tendering, pricing, programming, and forward planning with a strong commercial focus.
- Build lasting client and stakeholder relationships, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
- Champion a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement across the business.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven New Zealand experience as a Construction Manager or Senior Project Manager in civil infrastructure.
- A successful track record delivering varied projects and managing project leaders on the ground.
- Strong knowledge of NZS3910, local regulations, and HSE requirements.
- Commercial acumen with experience in tendering, variations, and contract management.
- Confident, approachable leadership style with a focus on developing people.

- Salary, dependent on level of experience, will be in the range of $150k – $180k + vehicle + medical insurance.
