Responsibilities

Intermediate Quantity Surveyor

• Assist in preparing cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
• Measure and price construction work from drawings and specifications.
• Prepare tender documents and evaluate contractor bids.
• Monitor project expenditures and report cost variations.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure cost-effective solutions.
• Support senior QSs in contract administration and procurement.

Senior Quantity Surveyor

• Lead cost planning, budgeting, and financial management of projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies and provide cost advice to clients.
• Prepare and negotiate contract terms with contractors and suppliers.
• Oversee project progress, ensuring cost control and risk management.
• Manage claims, variations, and dispute resolution processes.
• Mentor and guide junior and intermediate QS team members.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

For Both Roles:

✔ Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
✔ Strong knowledge of NZ building codes, contract law, and construction methodologies.
✔ Proficiency in cost estimation software (e.g., CostX, Cubit, or similar).
✔ Excellent analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
✔ Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
✔ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional for Senior QS:

✔ 7+ years of relevant experience in quantity surveying.
✔ Proven leadership and mentoring skills.
✔ Experience with complex commercial or infrastructure projects.
