Our client is seeking someone for a long-term position. Based in Palmerston North, they offer the chance to transition into a permanent role for those who can demonstrate expertise in drainage. This is a hands-on position, with a leadership component where you'll guide the crew on-site.
Key responsibilities:
- Getting hands-on with trenching and pipe laying
• Working alongside excavators and spotting to keep the site safe and efficient
• Reading and interpreting drainage plans to ensure smooth operations - Installing key infrastructure like stormwater, sewer, and water mains
• Supporting the foreman or stepping up to help run the day, depending on your experience
What we can offer:
- $30 - $45 per hour (based on experience)
- Full time work, Monday to Friday
- Temp to perm opportunities available
- Opportunities to go permanent with some of NZ’s largest contractors

What we need from you:
- Must hold a valid Drainlayer qualification/certificate in New Zealand
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience in civil drainage
- Full Class 1 drivers licence minimum (W,T,R endorsements are a bonus)
- The ability to read/interpret plans and technical drawings
- Competent using drainage tools and machinery
- Reliable, motivated and ready to be a team player
