Step into a key engineering role on a high-profile renewable energy infrastructure project. We’re seeking a Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of a geothermal power station near Taupō. This is a site-focused position where you’ll bring your technical expertise, coordination skills, and passion for clean energy to life.
About the role:
As Project Engineer, you’ll play a vital part in the delivery of construction and commissioning phases. You’ll work closely with the Project Manager, contractors, and suppliers to ensure design compliance, resolve technical issues, and maintain engineering documentation throughout the build.
Key responsibilities:

Coordinate technical queries, RFIs, and engineering documentation across project stakeholders.

Review and track design drawings, vendor specs, and construction deliverables.

Support site QA/QC activities and verify materials and work align with specifications.

Assist in procurement tracking, commissioning support, and close-out documentation.

Engage in continuous improvement, problem solving, and HSE compliance.
About you:

Tertiary qualified in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Industrial Engineering.

3+ years' experience in project engineering within power generation, heavy industrial, or infrastructure projects.

Comfortable on site – able to engage with construction teams, climb structures, and manage field inspections.

Familiar with engineering codes and standards (ASME, API, ISO, NZBC).

Proficient in MS Office and project tools (MS Project, Primavera a plus).
