A 100% Privately owned Civil Construction Contractor is seeking an experienced and driven Civil Construction Manager to lead their Christchurch operation. This client has been operating for the past 28 years providing Civil Construction, Land Development, Open Space Management and Maintenance services throughout Canterbury.
This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for managing the full lifecycle of contract delivery while driving operational performance, profitability, and strategic growth. Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will play a key role in positioning the business for continued success.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the full lifecycle of contract management from inception to completion

Monitor, manage, and report on contract financial performance

Lead negotiations and proactively manage contractual risk

Identify and mitigate commercial and operational risks

Mentor, coach, and develop a team of contract managers and engineers

Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
About You
-
Tertiary qualification in the areas of Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management
- 10+ years of relevant work experience at a senior level managing projects and leading teams within civil infrastructure

Strong commercial acumen with sound financial management capability

Advanced negotiation and stakeholder management skills

Solid understanding of NZS3910: Conditions of Contract, Resource Management and Statutory Compliance

Aspirational, driven, and motivated to step into broader operational leadership
