- High value pipeline of multi-unit residential, commercial and some industrial projects.
- Bring New Zealand Site Management experience and a building trade qualification.
- Work closely with the Construction Manager, site managers and subbies.
This client of mine is run off thier feet - with big growth over the last year they are looking for someone who is an adaptble and driven Construction Manager who can step in underneith the GM of construction and take some of the load off. You will be forceeing snags and problems, knowing when to take care of things without raising it higher and supporitng your tradespeople to deliver beautiful high quality projects throughout the regions.
Manage 5-6 builds simultaneously, some small and others may be much larger developments.
In this position, you will largely be responsible for day-to-day coordination and supervision, using your knowledge and experience to ensure that multiple sites are well managed.
Key responsibilities and duties will include:
- Coordinate and manage the trade contractors on-site.
- Acting as a leader regarding health and safety in all your work actions.
- Identify and manage any potential safety hazards on-site.
- Establishment, monitoring and implementation of the construction program.
- Ensure accurate reporting and records.
- Spot potential issues early on and take action to resolve them.
- Develop effective working relationships with subcontractors.
- Monitor subcontractor work to ensure high quality is maintained.
Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate a relevant construction trade or tertiary level qualification and have significant experience in "hands-on" site management of residential and commercial developments, as well as design and builds .
- Trade-qualified carpenter with a minimum 10 years of experience post-qualification.
- LBP would be advantageous.
- Extensive Construction knowledge.
- Site Safe Passport.
- Working knowledge of building codes and regulations.
- Experience managing multiple projects ($100K-$20mill ).
In addition to being able to understand construction plans, you must also have a working level understanding of standard office based computer packages.
You will be legally entitled to work in New Zealand and bring local construction experience.
