Our client a locally owned Contractor that has been servicing Canterbury for many years is now looking for an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join their team.

You will join a medium size team in the workshop and work on a variety of equipment from Trucks and Earth moving machinery from excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, cranes, compactors, pumps, generators and piling equipment.

Role responsibilities/Qualifications:

  • Trade qualified NZ Level 4 in Heavy Automotive (Plant and Equipment or Road Transport)
  • Class 4 or 5 driver licence with WTR
  • Must be able to diagnose faults and resolve mechanical issues
  • Perform vehicle checks, repairs, maintenance and servicing on equipment
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic working on heavy plant and equipment including cranes
  • Technical knowledge of diesel engines and related systems
  • Strong health and safety focus
