The Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Planner to step into a leadership role with a progressive local authority in the Canterbury region.
As Duty Planning Supervisor, youll lead and support a team of Duty Planners while remaining hands-on with a range of planning and resource management work. Youll coordinate day-to-day planning enquiries, pre-application meetings, PIM reviews and resource consent processing, ensuring work is delivered efficiently and within legislative timeframes.
The role offers plenty of variety, including providing planning advice on complex development proposals, processing land use and subdivision applications, working with developers and consultants, responding to public enquiries and contributing to District Plan reviews and plan changes.
Youll work closely with internal teams, external stakeholders and the wider community, playing an important role in supporting sustainable growth across the district.
Were looking for an experienced planner with around 45 years experience in resource consent processing, strong knowledge of the RMA and land-use planning, and the confidence to lead, mentor and support others.
