We are seeking a practical, hands-on Engineering Technician to support equipment installation, workshop projects and site improvement initiatives within our growing manufacturing operation.
This is an ideal opportunity for a junior engineer, trade-qualified technician or capable apprentice-level individual who enjoys working with tools, solving problems and taking ownership of real tasks on site.
You’ll play an important role in helping set up new machinery, improve production spaces and support ongoing engineering activities.
About the role
This is a varied, practical position where no two days are the same.
Key responsibilities include:

Supporting installation, relocation and commissioning of production equipment

Reading plans and carrying out basic fabrication and fit-out tasks

Marking out, measuring, drilling and mechanical assembly work

Assisting with workshop and facility improvement projects (e.g. partitions, layouts, machine bases)

Moving equipment and materials safely around site

Supporting engineering and production teams with general technical tasks
-
Contributing ideas and taking ownership of assigned work
This role offers strong potential to develop into a machine operator or more senior technical role over time.
About you
We’re looking for someone who combines technical understanding with a practical, can-do attitude.
You will likely have:

Around 2+ years practical engineering / trade / technical experience (or progressing through an apprenticeship or engineering qualification)

Solid tool handling skills across light fabrication, mechanical fitting or basic plumbing/assembly

Ability to read drawings and follow technical instructions

Confidence working semi-autonomously and delivering tasks through to completion

Good communication skills — able to ask questions and work effectively in a team

Physical capability to assist with equipment movement and site tasks

Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain)
