RobLawMax have partnered with a medium sized Structural Steel Fabrication and Erection Company based in Timaru. With a continuing increased workload and forward work throughout 2025-26 they are looking for 2x Fabricator / Welders to join their company.
The successful applicants will have a great work ethic, work to a consistent level of quality and high level of detail, be punctual and have a minimum of 3 years post trade certificate in Fabrication (Heavy or Steel Construction Strand/ Fitter Welder/ Boilermaker) experience or be able to show significant experience as a journeyman. Heavy structural steel experience is required.
Role and Responsibilities
- Accurately assemble steelwork in a productive manner to the required standards and specification
- Be able to fabricate complex structural steel from supplied shop drawings, unsupervised
- Use overhead cranes and gantries, punch and shears and other typical equipment
- Weld in all positions with mig welding equipment if required
- Welding and fabricating to New Zealand standards and specifications
What's in it for you
- Pay rate $34 - $38 per hour (dependent on post trade qualification experience)
- Standard 40 hour contract worked Monday to Friday, also Saturday mornings when workload requires it
- Time and a Half over 40 hours
