This role suits someone who takes pride in precision, safety, and keeping things running smoothly on site. You’ll be responsible for processing steel scrap to customer specifications while maintaining high health & safety standards and supporting wider yard operations when needed.
Key responsibilities:
- Cutting and processing steel scrap to meet customer requirements
- Operating, maintaining, and safely storing gas-cutting equipment
- Monitoring gas levels and coordinating reorders with the supervisor
- Recording product weights and recovered materials accurately
- Keeping your work area clean, safe, and organised
- Assisting with general yard duties as required
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum 2 years’ gas-cutting experience
- Strong focus on health & safety practices
- Ability to work both independently and in a team
- Reliable, honest, and a solid work ethic
- Good communication skills and professional attitude
- Clean criminal record and ability to pass a drug test
- Relevant licences or certifications preferred
