This role suits someone who takes pride in precision, safety, and keeping things running smoothly on site. You’ll be responsible for processing steel scrap to customer specifications while maintaining high health & safety standards and supporting wider yard operations when needed.

Key responsibilities:

  • Process steel scrap efficiently, including gas cutting, to meet customer requirements
  • Operate, maintain, and safely store gas-cutting equipment daily
  • Monitor gas supply levels and arrange reorders through the Steel Yard Supervisor
  • Accurately record product weights and recovered non-ferrous materials
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area at all times
  • Assist across other areas of the yard as required

What we’re looking for:

  • Minimum 2 years’ gas-cutting experience
  • Strong industry background with a clear focus on health & safety
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliable, honest, and willing to support your teammates
  • Good communication skills and a professional attitude
  • Clean criminal record and ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Relevant licences or certifications for the role
