The role:
You'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a diverse fleet of heavy diesel equipment, ensuring maximum reliability and availability across C3's operations.
Your work will include:
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
- Preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
- Working on wheel loaders, excavators, log loaders, material handlers, terminal tractors and other specialist equipment
- Mentoring an apprentice mechanic
- Completing maintenance records and working closely with operations to minimise downtime
- Contributing to continuous improvement and maintaining high safety standards
About you:
You'll ideally have:
- A recognised Heavy Automotive Engineering qualification (MITO or equivalent)
- Solid experience maintaining heavy diesel machinery
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience with hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems
- A commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety
- The ability to mentor and support junior team members
- A full New Zealand Driver Licence
- Class 2 and 4 licences with W, T & R endorsements (advantageous)
- Availability to participate in an on-call roster
