We are looking for workshop managers based in Wellington.
A well-established engineering and energy-equipment & general engineering provider is looking for a capable Workshop Manager to lead day-to-day workshop operations, support a skilled trades team, and ensure high-quality delivery across heavy fabrication, maintenance, and assembly work.
What you’ll be doing
- Overseeing the daily workflow of a busy engineering workshop, largely heavy fabrication
- Leading, mentoring, and coordinating a team of tradespeople and technicians
- Planning workloads, allocating tasks, and keeping projects on schedule
- Managing fabrication, repairs, and assembly of mechanical or industrial equipment
- Ensuring the workshop operates safely and efficiently with strong H&S compliance
- Working alongside project managers, engineers, and clients to meet project requirements
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in a workshop leadership or senior trade position
- Strong technical background in mechanical, fabrication, or industrial plant work
- Confident leadership with the ability to motivate and guide a team
- Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to safe work practices and high-quality workmanship
- Clear communication skills across all levels of a project
