Due to their growth, they are now looking for an experienced Land Surveyor to join their newly created team in Queenstown.

The Role

The Surveyor will be responsible for overseeing and delivering all on-site surveying functions, including set-out, earthworks design support, as-built records, and survey reporting. This role plays a key part in ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance across all projects, while also supporting and supervising junior survey staff and working closely with clients, consultants, and wider project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Earthworks surveying including cut/fill, set-out, and as-builts
  • Field surveys and construction monitoring across civil projects
  • Produce survey drawings, reports, quantities, and documentation
  • Process survey data using Civil CAD, Magnet, and Trimble Business Center
  • Operate GPS, total stations, and related survey equipment
  • Ensure works meet design specifications and compliance requirements
  • Liaise with clients, engineers, and project teams
  • Support mentoring of junior survey staff

About You

  • 5+ years civil construction / earthworks surveying experience
  • Strong CAD and survey software skills (Civil CAD, Magnet, TBC)
  • Confident with GPS, total stations, and set-out work
  • High accuracy with strong attention to detail
  • Good communicator with ability to manage priorities
