About the Role
Working as part of the site-based projects team, you’ll take responsibility for supporting the mechanical quality assurance (QA) process across all stages of construction.
This hands-on role combines documentation, inspection, and coordination — ideal for someone with a practical background looking to grow into site QA or project engineering.
Key responsibilities include:

Reviewing and managing QA documentation including ITPs, ITRs, installation and calibration records, welding and inspection reports

Conducting regular inspections during construction to ensure mechanical work meets drawings, specifications, and codes

Supporting completion walkdowns and punchlist reviews with the client and project team

Tagging and system identification during mechanical completion and turnover
-
Tracking and resolving NCRs (non-conformance reports), collaborating with engineers and contractors to close out issues

Assisting with materials receiving, traceability, and record-keeping
-
Preparing and submitting final QA packages for client and regulatory approval
-
Contributing to problem-solving, process improvements, and maintaining strong HSE standards
About You
You’ll likely come from a practical mechanical background such as:

Mechanical fitting, fabrication, welding, NDT, or inspection

Experience with plant, power, or industrial environments — e.g. pipework, pumps, pressure vessels, or heat exchangers
You’ll also bring:

Good understanding of QA/inspection records and documentation (ITP, ITR, NCR, welding records)

Strong attention to detail and an organised, methodical approach

Sound computer skills (Word, Excel) and ability to learn project QA systems

Excellent communication and teamwork skills

A valid NZ driver’s licence and commitment to safe work practices
Recent mechanical diploma/degree graduates with site experience are also encouraged to apply.
