This role is ideal for someone who’s confident working with steel, values accuracy, and takes a strong safety-first approach in a fast-paced yard or workshop environment. You’ll play a key role in processing steel materials to specification while supporting smooth day-to-day operations across the site.
Key responsibilities:
- Cut steel and metal materials using plasma cutting equipment to customer specifications
- Set up, operate, and maintain plasma cutting machinery safely
- Read measurements, job specs, and cutting requirements accurately
- Monitor equipment condition and report maintenance or safety issues promptly
- Record product weights and recovered materials as required
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area
- Participate in toolbox talks and team meetings
- Support other areas of the yard or workshop when required
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience operating plasma cutting equipment
- Strong understanding of health & safety in industrial or yard environments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliable, honest, and proactive work ethic
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude
- Flexibility to assist across different areas if needed
- Clean criminal record and ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Relevant licences or certifications (preferred)
