About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will take ownership of production performance across a busy fabrication and manufacturing operation.
Leading a team of supervisors, tradespeople and production personnel, you will be responsible for ensuring production targets, quality standards, delivery commitments and safety expectations are consistently achieved.
This role combines people leadership, operational management and continuous improvement. While visibility on the workshop floor remains important, the position requires a broader focus on planning, productivity, resource utilisation, team capability and operational performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop production teams across fabrication, welding and manufacturing activities
- Drive production performance, productivity and operational efficiency
- Ensure production schedules and delivery commitments are achieved
- Manage labour planning, resource allocation and workshop capacity
- Monitor and improve quality, productivity and workflow performance
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across production operations
- Foster a strong culture of accountability, teamwork and safety
- Work closely with planning, procurement, engineering and operations teams
- Support workforce development through coaching, mentoring and performance management
- Drive improvements in systems, processes and production disciplines
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety and quality requirements
About You

You will ideally bring:
- Experience leading production teams within a manufacturing, fabrication or engineering environment
- Proven success managing productivity, quality and delivery performance
- Strong people leadership and team development capability
- Experience with production planning, labour allocation and operational resource management
- A continuous improvement mindset with a track record of driving performance improvements
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Commitment to safety, quality and operational excellence
Experience within fabrication, welding, engineering or industrial manufacturing environments will be highly regarded.
