Project Engineer / Surveyor – Civil Infrastructure

We’re working with a leading civil contractor to recruit a well-rounded Project Engineer / Surveyor for a key role supporting the delivery of major infrastructure projects.

This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys both hands-on surveying and project engineering, offering a 50/50 split across site-based survey work and project delivery responsibilities.

About the Role

You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering civil infrastructure projects, contributing both in the field and in the office. This position suits someone who thrives on variety—balancing technical surveying work with coordination, planning, and engineering support.

You’ll be involved across the full project lifecycle, from set-out and data capture through to as-built documentation and supporting project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out site surveying including set-out, data capture, and as-built production
  • Operate equipment such as GNSS, robotic total stations, laser scanners, and drones
  • Process and manage survey data using software such as Civil 3D / CAD
  • Support project delivery through planning, coordination, and methodology development
  • Assist with procurement, subcontractor coordination, and programme tracking
  • Ensure quality, compliance, and health & safety standards are upheld on site

About You

  • Proven experience across both civil surveying and project engineering within infrastructure projects
  • Strong hands-on capability with modern surveying equipment (GNSS, total stations, scanning, drones)
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D / CAD or similar software
  • 5+ years of experience delivering major infrastructure, water reticulation, or land development projects
  • Practical, site-focused background—no cadastral or certifying qualification required

What’s in it for you?

  • Diverse role offering a balance of field and project-based work
  • Exposure to complex, large-scale civil infrastructure projects
  • Supportive team environment with opportunities for growth and development
  • Competitive salary package with tools of the trade provided

If you’re looking for a role that combines technical surveying expertise with project delivery, and you enjoy being close to the action on site, this could be the ideal next step.
