Project Manager – Water Infrastructure
RobLawMax have a proud 40-year history of recruiting for the New Zealand construction industry.
We are working with a well-established multidisciplinary consultancy to appoint a Project Manager with either a mechanical or process engineering background to support the delivery of complex water infrastructure projects across New Zealand.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone wanting to step further into client-side and consultancy project management while still leveraging their technical understanding of water treatment, pump stations, pipelines, and wider three waters infrastructure. The role will see you working closely with councils, contractors, and technical specialists to deliver projects from planning through to construction and commissioning. The consultancy has a strong reputation within the infrastructure sector and continues to secure long-term programmes of work across both public and private clients.
The organisation is particularly interested in candidates who can confidently coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage project delivery risk, and communicate effectively with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle. Experience built up within water, wastewater, or industrial process environments will be highly regarded.

Desired Experience
• Background in mechanical engineering, process engineering, or related water infrastructure disciplines
• Experience delivering water, wastewater, or industrial infrastructure projects
• Ability to coordinate consultants, contractors, and client stakeholders across multiple project phases
• Strong communication, programme management, and problem-solving capability
• Comfortable operating in a consultancy environment and managing competing project priorities
• Understanding of construction delivery, procurement, design management, and commissioning processes preferred
