We’re partnering with an established, specialist business operating in a technical, project-based environment. With strong foundations already in place, they’re now looking for someone to take full responsibility for their South Island presence and drive the next phase of growth.
This role suits someone who understands coatings, construction and flooring — and is just as comfortable on-site discussing substrate prep and system specs as they are closing work and managing margins.
You’ll have end-to-end responsibility for the region, including:
Growth & revenue
- Driving new business across commercial, industrial, and public sector clients
- Building a strong pipeline and converting opportunities into revenue
- Growing existing accounts through relationships and consistent delivery
Operations & delivery
- Overseeing projects from scope through to completion
- Managing day-to-day workflow, resources, and scheduling
- Ensuring work is delivered on time, to standard, and profitably
- Jumping in where needed — this is a hands-on environment
People & leadership
- Leading a small, capable team on the ground
- Hiring, onboarding, and developing staff as the region grows
- Creating a positive, accountable, “get it done” culture
Commercial performance
- Managing budgets, margins, and overall financial performance
- Keeping a close eye on costs, pricing, and profitability
Relationships
- Building strong, long-term relationships with clients, contractors, and suppliers
- Becoming a trusted go-to in your market
- Representing the business professionally across all touchpoints
About you
You’re likely already, running a branch, small business, or division, or in a senior role where you’re effectively doing that without the title.
More importantly, you:
- Think commercially and have a background in sales, business development, or operational leadership
- Are comfortable being both in front of clients and on the tools
- Experience managing projects in NZ construction, surfacing, civil, or technical industries
- CRM experience (Salesforce ideal)
- Excellent communication and relationship-building ability
- Full NZ driver’s licence and clean record
Experience in construction, coatings, civil, or a related project-based industry will help.
