The Position
As Senior Estimator, you will take ownership of pricing civil infrastructure projects, producing accurate and competitive tenders that support sustainable growth for the business. You will work closely with Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors, providing robust cost planning, identifying risks and opportunities, and supporting successful project handovers and variations. This role suits someone who enjoys both the technical side of estimating and the relationship side with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Skills and Experience required
- Proven experience preparing accurate, competitive estimates for civil infrastructure projects in New Zealand.​
- Clear, confident communication skills with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.​
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify risk, opportunity, and value-add in tenders.​
- Proficiency with estimating software and Excel-based tools, plus solid written documentation skills.​
- Collaborative, team-oriented approach, with an interest in mentoring junior staff and contributing to better systems and processes.​
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the NZ civil construction industry; tertiary qualifications are preferred but not essential.​
