The Opportunity
This is a hands-on leadership role based in Tauranga where you'll own the day-to-day delivery of commercial projects from start to finish. You'll be the key on-site representative, driving programme, coordinating trades, keeping quality and safety standards high, and keeping clients and stakeholders in the loop. If you thrive on solving problems, motivating crews, and seeing a project come together the right way, this is your patch.
What You'll Be Doing
- Run site operations end-to-end: safety, programme, budget and quality
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, plant and labour to keep projects moving
- Stay ahead of issues – spot risks early and deal with them before they bite
- Champion health and safety, including site inspections and hazard management
- Keep quality assurance on point and workmanship up to spec
- Build solid relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors
- Keep documentation and reporting tidy – daily logs, progress updates, variations
- Support budget control by finding smarter, more efficient ways to work
- Lead, coach and get the best out of your site team
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years in construction site management, ideally commercial
- A proven track record leading projects and site teams from start to finish
- Strong grasp of commercial construction methods, sequencing and QA
- Experience juggling multiple subcontractors and workstreams on live sites
- Solid knowledge of NZ health and safety requirements
- Confident with construction management software and reporting tools
- Sharp communication and stakeholder skills
- A full NZ driver's licence
- A trade background or construction-related qualification is a bonus, but experience and attitude matter most
