Our client is a highly respected and established New Zealand construction contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex, high-value commercial and institutional projects.
Due to the award and delivery of a significant healthcare project in Tauranga, they are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to take a key leadership role in the successful delivery of this major project.
This is a senior-level opportunity for an accomplished construction professional who can take ownership of complex project outcomes, lead high-performing teams and manage the full lifecycle of a major construction project.
Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of a major healthcare construction project.
- Lead and coordinate the project team, including site management, commercial, engineering and project delivery personnel.
- Manage the project from pre-construction through construction, commissioning, practical completion and handover.
- Work closely with the commercial and quantity surveying teams to maintain strong financial control.
- Monitor project budgets, forecasts, procurement and cashflow.
- Act as a senior point of contact for the client and key project stakeholders.
- Champion a strong health and safety culture throughout the project.
- Ensure all works are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation, project requirements and company standards.
About You
You will ideally bring:
- Significant experience within the New Zealand commercial construction industry.
- Proven experience as a Project Manager or Senior Project Manager delivering substantial construction projects, specifically in the healthcare/medical facility space.
- Experience managing projects through the full construction lifecycle.
- Proven experience leading and developing project teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship management skills.
- Previous hospital or healthcare construction experience.
- You will be a proven leader who can bring together project teams, subcontractors, consultants and clients to achieve exceptional outcomes. You will be commercially astute, highly organised and comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced and complex project environment.
