RobLawMax Recruitment is looking for a reliable, hard-working Stone Mason Assistant to join a skilled team delivering high-quality residential and commercial stonework throughout the Wellington region. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work and wants to develop their skills in a specialised trade.
About the role
As a Stone Mason Assistant, you'll work alongside experienced stonemasons, helping to deliver premium stone installations while learning valuable trade skills.
Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Assisting with the installation of natural and engineered stone.
- Preparing materials, tools and work areas.
- Cutting, shaping and finishing stone products.
- Loading, unloading and transporting materials safely.
- Supporting site set-up and maintaining a clean, organised workspace.
- Working closely with experienced tradespeople on a variety of projects.

Skills and experience
Experience in any of the following would be highly regarded:
- Stone cutting or stone fabrication.
- Wall or floor tiling.
- Metal frame fabrication.
- Caulking and finishing.
- General construction or trade labouring.
- Experience using hand and power tools.

- Physically fit and comfortable with manual work.
- Great attention to detail and pride in producing quality workmanship.
- Commitment to workplace health and safety.
- Full New Zealand driver's licence preferred.
