About the Company

This established New Zealand business operates in the power, metering and control systems space, supporting utilities, contractors and industrial clients across the country.

With a strong technical offering and long-standing presence in the market, the business is now looking to strengthen its South Island capability following recent team changes.

About the Role

This is not a traditional sales role.

You’ll act as the bridge between customers and technical solutions, working closely with clients to understand requirements, provide guidance, and support the delivery of fit-for-purpose power and metering systems.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working with utilities, contractors and industrial clients across the South Island
  • Supporting RFQs, proposals and technical solutions
  • Acting as the go-to technical contact for customers
  • Building and re-establishing relationships across an existing customer base
  • Identifying new opportunities through engagement rather than hard selling
  • Travelling as required for client visits, site support and industry events

This is a role with a high level of autonomy, supported by a wider technical and sales team.

About You

You’ll come from an electrical or power systems background and be comfortable engaging with customers in a technical capacity.

Typically, you will bring:

  • Experience in power systems, HV/LV distribution, metering or protection
  • A background in field engineering, commissioning or technical support
  • The ability to confidently engage with clients and explain technical solutions
  • Exposure to RFQs, proposals or project-based work
  • Strong communication skills and a practical, solutions-focused mindset

You don’t need to be a career salesperson, but you do need to enjoy working with people.
